Unified Communications Certificate (SANS UCC Certificate)

Use Subject Alternative Names (SANs) to Secure Your Entire Environment

Unified communications (UC) certificates (also called SAN certificates) use Subject Alternative Names to secure up to 4 domains, sites, and subdomains with one certificate. For example, with a UC certificate you can secure www.example.com, www.example2.com, www.example3.net, mail.example.net, dev.example2.com, etc. This makes UC certificates perfect for Exchange/OCS environments or any environment where you need to secure multiple names across different domains.

Unlimited Server License

Most other Certificate Authorities’ SSL Certificates (including wildcard certificates) are only licensed for one physical server. But with DigiCert’s unlimited server license, you can use your certificate on as many servers as you want. You can even generate separate certificates with unique key pairs for each server. That’s the ultimate in flexibility.

You can use a UC certificate to run multiple services (like OWA, SMTP, Autodiscovery, ActiveSync, and Outlook Anywhere) on one IP address.

State-of-the-Art Data Encryption

One of the best ways to protect your website from brute force attacks is to use 256-bit encryption along with 2048-bit root certificates. This hybrid cryptosystem benefits from the best features of both symmetric and asymmetric encryption. DigiCert certificates use the most secure encryption available and support for both SHA-1 and SHA-2 algorithms.

Complete Flexibility

One of the primary benefits of DigiCert Unified Communications Certificates is the complete control you gain over the Subject Alternative Name field, allowing you to secure up to 25 host names with just one SSL Certificate. For instance, with one UCC Certificate you can secure multiple services (OWA, SMTP, Autodiscovery, ActiveSync, and Outlook Anywhere) in Exchange 2007 or 2010. Running all services on one IP address greatly reduces the complexity of your server configuration and simplifies management. Additionally, you have the flexibility to add, change, and delete any of the SANs on-the-fly to reflect the evolving needs of your network.

Simplified Maintenance

Save time and money by not having to purchase and manage multiple certificates and expiration dates. With a DigiCert UC certificate you can secure multiple sites, IP addresses, servers, and domains with a SINGLE certificate. You don’t have to put multiple IP addresses on your server and assign a different certificate to each address.

99.9% Browser Compatibility

DigiCert SSL Certificates are trusted by all common browsers, email clients, operating systems, and devices. Rest assured that not only are you using the most secure encryption available, but your customers are all able to access your site without issues.

Free and Effective Tools

DigiCert has a large selection of free tools that we developed to make managing SSL Certificates easier and more effective. Some of our most popular tools are the SSL Installation Diagnostics Tool and the SSL Utility for Windows. With the SSL Installation Diagnostics Tool you can check a certificate’s chain and locate any problems with your certificate installation. The SSL Utility for Windows helps you manage, troubleshoot, and fix the SSL Certificates on your server with an easy-to-use user interface.

$1,000,000 Warranty

DigiCert is committed to the online safety of you and your customers. That’s why every DigiCert SSL Certificate includes a $1 million warranty. If we somehow gave you an improperly-issued certificate, your customers would be covered against damages

Fast Certificate Issuance

EV certificate issuance often takes days or even weeks with other providers, causing organizations to settle for lower-assurance options. But, with DigiCert’s validation specialists working nearly 24/7, we can typically issue an EV SSL Certificate within a few hours.
